Álvaro from Spain, and Penélope from Colombia decided to get married in Cartagena and when we met it was instant chemistry. Álvaro made it clear that he didn’t want to pose, he just wanted FUN pictures and we were up for it because: who doesn’t like to have fun?

They both chose beautiful places in the old town of Cartagena to get ready, Álvaro with his family doing all the Spanish traditions and P with hers as well.

The looks they exchanged during the ceremony, the tears shed by their guests, and the beautiful church made this wedding a delicious eye candy for us to shoot.

Once they were done with the ceremony, it was time to dance through the streets of Cartagena, they just couldn’t get enough of twirling, smiling, hugging and just having FUN. When we stole them away for their couple pictures they kept on dancing and, as promised, enjoying themselves like crazy! we didn’t even had to direct anything, they just had a fantastic way of loving each other and we just shot that. With every click they showed more of what true connection, complicity and sinergy mean.

They literally had fun every second of their wedding, just the two of them, or with their guests, you could see (and can see in the pictures) that they were squeezing all the wedding goodness out of the day, and we fell in love with that, and with them.

Weddings like Lili and Ed’s are an absolute treat that make us fall in love with our job all over again. Not only are they exceedingly good humans, but also, we had a very cool connection with them based on a beautiful energetic understanding and an absolute agreement on our musical tastes.

So we wanted to share all the good things that we shot at this wedding: the couple and their families, the way they love each other, the moments (form a doggo coming to say hello in the middle of the church ceremony, the moving vows and their first dance to Frank Sinatra performed by the fantastic Medellín Big Band), the amazing team we worked with, everything, We just feel grateful and happy to have been a part of it.

Thank you, Lili and Ed, for having us there sharing in all the merriment, we love you guys!

The result is short of amazing! It was a day filled with laughter, love, great friends, emotional moments and speeches and mostly: lots of celebrating!

A couple of days ago we had our first Indian wedding. It was an overwhelming and fantastic experience that left us craving for more. More colorful dresses, more shiny embroidery, more millenary traditions, more of that joyful music, more of everything.

It was a 3 event thing held in Cartagena in which Ana and Ajay shared our country and a lot of beautiful Indina traditions with their family and friends from all around the world.
Day 1 came with a party in which the “jaago” tradition was celebrated. “Jaago” means “wake up” and it simbolizes a time in which wedding invitations were not sent to the guests. Instead family members of the bride and groom would walk around making noise with pots and pans and lighted candles asking everybody to wake up and join the celebrations.

On day 2 the wedding ceremony took place and we can’t even begin to choose our favorite part, so many beautiful traditions and details, it’s impossible!
The garments both the bride and groom were wearing were stunning with their intricate hand made embroidery patterns. The groom’s “sehra” (the beaded veil) was a show stopper for a lot of people walking down the street as he rode on his white horse during his “baraat”. Baraat is a procession in which the guests all dance around the groom as he makes his way to the wedding venue, it is extremely loud, extremely cheerful and extremely fantastic.

After that we stole the couple for some shots around the city. Needless to say we had a visual beauty overload: the colors, the textures, the streets of Cartagena and these two were almost too much to handle.

Event number 3 was their traditional wedding celebration: white dress, italian suit and lots of love. Speeches, great food, great music, and a special appearance by Lucas Arnau, Ajay’s favorite Colombian singer that Ana invited as a surprise to her new husband.

Some of the moments that made Maye and Piolly’s wedding so special:

After walking down the aisle as man and wife, Maye asked us if she could scream out loud, she was SO happy she felt she had to do it. We said: it’s your wedding, you can do whatever you want, and she screamed her head off with joy. It was one of the best wedding moments EVER.

The speeches their friends and family made were so special and heartfelt we couldn’t help but being touched and moved to tears.

The bride’s family took to the stage for an impromptu jam: father of the bride in the drums, brother of the bride in the guitar, groom on the bass, and the bride herself on the vocals singing “That thing you do”. So cool!

There were so many special moments, looks, embraces and words during this wedding that we were overwhelmed and so thankful for being there and witnessing Maye and Piolly’s love, the kind that inspires us to do what we do and put our heart and soul into it.

Thank you guys for choosing us! we love you!
